IC
Name: Kyouhei (Allemand)
Series: PkMn BW2
Age: 19
Housing: Ouvara University Dorm #009
School: Ouvara University
Work: Holy Grounds Barista
Personality:
Previously a wallflower-esque ambivert, Kyouhei has transformed into a mock-extrovert with his new freedom. He’s eager to participate in any conversation, quick to take up new hobbies, and doesn’t shy away from most typically extrovert-centric activities as long as he’s not singled out.
Tends to move animatedly when given the opportunity to speak at length about something, although he’s never consciously aware of this. These long talks, focused mostly on him, will never be about him. He prefers to tell people about himself in small doses unless pressured.
Extremely weak against any type of peer pressure, though this only applies to people his age or younger. Disregards adults and their criticisms instinctively due to multiple unhealthy relationships with adult figures in his life.
He’s oblivious/dense when it comes to other people’s feelings and has little-to-no experience with platonic or romantic relationships, and can come off as naive or crude because of this.
Backstory:
As an only child with busy parents, Kyouhei quickly learned to enjoy the small things in life - such as sunrises and learning how to fix his own toys - long before his parents noticed that he was becoming withdrawn.
Seeing as he showed a fascination with how things worked, they decided to “encourage” him to go into medicine, as a doctor (like his mother), and she began to take him along to work when possible.
When Kyouhei continued to be uninterested in the field of doctoring, his father took over, trying to get him interested in news-writing, and when he showed no interest or promise in that, they handed him over to his father’s older brother for a more military upbringing. This conflicted so much with his previous upbringing that he and that uncle ended up borderline hating each other, and is the cause of his current work ethic.
Along with the more hands-on education (exercise was used as a punishment, and rewards were usually nods of approval instead of money and physical gifts), he also learned how to fix his own clothes and handle guns, and it helped him develop a more outgoing personality when he realized the amount of interaction he was missing.
By this time (at about fifteen years of age) he realized his parents weren’t going to leave him alone to let him live his life unless there was some show of enthusiasm or talent in a promising career, and began to scout out things on his own, much to their mixed delight and worry.
Knowing something like botany or geology (his real passions) wouldn’t be met with enthusiasm because of the amount of jobs and recognition in those fields, Kyouhei quickly approached his parents on studying biochemistry, and he was able to take a few online classes while searching for a school that taught it that was far away from his parents and their close family.
From there, it was only natural that he get into a University somewhere, and when the first application came back (from Ouvara University, to his delight) he packed his things and left without telling his family much of anything, determined to start a new life.
