30 - Childhood Friends AU w/ @florasions

As a kid, Kyouhei was hardly ever given permission to interact with people his age. Both of his parents and their adult influences insisted it was more important that he was knowledgeable than sociable, and that was that.

It wasn’t like he always adhered to what they wanted though. Him moving away without telling them was part of that, but when he was still little and learning his boundaries he made a larger rebellious move without even knowing, and losing him… losing one of the only kids he had as a friend without warning had been tough.

And now he had the chance to meet them again. Kyouhei recognized the name of the person sitting in parallel to him (how could he not?) and all it would take is a leading question to figure out of Avery still remembered him… and if he could recognize the brunet by name alone.

There was only one way to find out.

“Hey, Avery?” Cautiously, he waved at the pink-haired boy seated next to him. “Uh, do you… have, um.” Oh god, this was not going well, abort, abort. “Do you like sweets?” WRONG QUESTION.

21 - Lost in the Woods™ AU w/ @friendlyoceangiant

By the dictionary’s definition of “lost”, (unable to find one’s way; not knowing one’s whereabouts), Kyouhei was confoundingly lost and near hopeless in his exploits to become unlost.

Mostly because he was also lost to the way he’d become lost - last he remembered he’d decided to take a break from work and had curled up over his books, not intending to pass out, but….

What else could explain him waking up in what seemed to be the definition of a haunted forest. The shadows, the lack of anything green, the crooked stone paths, the mist… the ambiance, in other words, was slowly causing him to panic.

Nervous is his efforts to keep moving along the barely distinguishable path, Kyouhei tried not to let every sudden, unexplainable noise or oddly shaped shadow get to him, and mostly succeeded until he turned a sharp corner and bumped right into someone.

“Oh god, please don’t kill me I don’t wanna die here-” slipped out on instinct as Kyouhei stumbled back, eyes wide with fear (he was unable to deny it at this point) and body shaking like a leaf as a whole.

Long Lost

lowbloodpressurelord:

If it had been any one else in an entirely different situation, Kyouya may have been inclined to act with impatience but since this was his younger sibling and he had essentially dropped a life changing bomb on him, he was willing to give the younger male as much time as he needed. He himself had taken a while to adapt to the news, had been a lot more violent in fact but in time he had accepted it. He didn’t have much choice in the matter really, when sound evidence which could knock any argument flat had been supplied for his critical perusal.

Dark orbs softened slightly behind their glass shields as they regarded the shorter male standing before him, his younger brother… The more he studied Kyouhei, the more he could identify the underlying Ootori traits. Perhaps the resemblance was not as strong as it was between his other siblings who shared both parents, but there were unmistakable similarities nonetheless.

The ebony haired male might have felt a bit guilty upon learning that his younger sibling was under the impression that both of his parents were his real ones, meaning that he had been caught totally unawares. Such information would always be shocking but being marginally prepared would have at least softened the blow. Kyouhei hadn’t had that…

“I know exactly who you are…”

Offering the other an understanding look, he made sure to keep his tone gentle so that he wouldn’t frighten his companion off before they had managed to talk it out.

image

“I’m Kyouya Ootori and I’ve been looking for you for a long time now. I’m sure you must have questions. If you like, we can discuss the matter over coffee.”

When the stranger - now dubbed Kyouya Ootori - finalized what he’d said; Kyouhei was transfixed in a fight-or-flight state. Part of him just wanted to take off, to pack up and get on a plane and to never land. The other was just… over it, already.

After everything that had already happened to him, what was one more complication, one more parent-to-child lie? There was frustration in him, a righteous fury boiling up, but it was mostly overshadowed by both hurt and curiosity.

… What was his relation to Kyouya, exactly? “Sibling” was… a pretty broad term, and there were so many little details that would have to be answered in order for something like this to be easy on Kyouhei’s mind - ah, their names were similar, was that significant or not…?

“… Thank you for putting in the effort to find and tell me this, Kyouya.” Kyouhei finally forced out, the pleasantries tasting and feeling bitter, even to his own ears. To remedy this, he tried for a smile.

image

“I do have time for a proper discussion about… this, so…. Lead the way?” He wasn’t sure what else could be said. He’d already been promised some answers (and Kyouhei did have questions) and from the sounds of it, he’d need a pick-me-up for this level of serious conversation.

Long Lost

[continuing from here!] @lowbloodpressurelord

Kyouhei was about to apologize for being so snappy toward a total stranger, knowing more than anyone else that sometimes people just zoned out and it couldn’t be helped, when he was backhanded with that claim.

It took a moment to settle in. More than a moment. Maybe two moments and a half. No matter how long it took, shock still held him in its clasped hands as he mulled over what a stranger could gain from doing something like this.

image

“Aha, that’s… funny?” He looked around, trying the spot reaction cams or photographers or anything that would reveal this as a set-up. As some sort of elaborate prank. “Ah, unless you’re serious, in that case.”

If this person was being serious about them being siblings, what did that mean about the life he’d lived up until now? Sure, he’d never seen a birth certificate or an adoption certificate (there’d never been a reason to) but that didn’t necessarily mean….

Kyouhei cleared his throat and met the stranger’s dark eyes, once again. “I know who my parents are? So you might… have the wrong person… uh, unless… you’re completely serious? Unmistaken?”

It was a difficult thing to fathom. That he might have more family out there, that someone put effort into finding him in such a situation… it was. Strange and a bit prickly. But he wouldn’t think about it anymore unless this person was absolutely certain.

“My name is Kyouhei… Kyouhei Allemand.” Hearing himself say his last name was weird. Nonetheless, the student continued. “Are you sure I’m the person you’re looking for?”

Route To Everywhere

Mika felt much more free and happy travelling than being close to his birthplace. It wasn’t home. It never really was, as there was nothing there for him but bitter memories and sadness. Even so, he did felt the need to return sometimes, maybe because Sinnoh was the place where he had started and because there were many things he did enjoyed about the many ruins and cities.

He was making his way to Hearthrome City, when he happened to cross paths with another trainer. He was a bit distracted, and he had always been the clumsy and distracted type, so it was rather often that he bumped into people. But not always did people suddenly went for a fight because of that.

Throwing his eyes to the ground as he heard the other commenting on them, he reached to his own poke-balls as well, not wanting to be caught of guard. His own Mimikyu had moved forward in the meantime, stepping between the stranger and Mika in a defensive manner.

image

“I ain’t want no trouble, but I won’t pull my punches if you go for it”

While the route stalker in him was raring and ready to go, the budding researcher in him immediately froze at the sight of the Mimikyu, swaying slightly in it’s Pikachu disguise and acting obviously protective.

His heart froze and then his heart melted.

image

“Aww, what a cutie!” He kneeled down so as to get a better look at the rare Pokemon - well, it wasn’t native to Unova or Sinnoh, and so it was fairly rare? Not rare in the traditional sense, but….

“We can battle later, sure, but wow, where’d you found them! They look to be in excellent condition, for not being regional!” Kyouhei looked up at the trainer, eyes glittering happily.

Awakening due to the noise he was now making, his Superior popped her head over his shoulder, out from under his coat which hid her form unless you were looking for it, and eyed what she saw as a rival trainer with wariness.

Route To Everywhere

Pokemon AU w/ @mismatcheddoll

Traveling really was the best experienced. While Unova was supposedly the region of adventure, it being a relatively new area, to Kyouhei it was the other regions that were a mystery.

Sinnoh, for instance… how to say… the element of the unknown made the brunet giddy with excitement. All the ruins, from the Solaceon ruins to whatever was going on in Celestic Town, he’d never experienced something like that before!

The veteran star exhaled loudly, already looking around Route 209 to determine the best way to avoid all the trainers - not that Kyouhei had anything against battling, but he wanted to get to Hearthrome City so he could meet the resident Gym Leader - it was only polite, after all!

Absentminded, due to his thoughts wandering to the gym leader’s preference - Ghost types, immune to normal type attacks, while Normal types were immune to Ghost types, how strange - he ended up bumping into someone.

image

“Hey, too bad.” Automatically, Kyouhei reached toward his poke-balls, smiling without restraint. “I suppose you want to battle now, seeing as I technically met your eyes just now? Sorry for bumping into you!”
